Kind of an interesting acquisition.

I like Tecate and Dos Equis (never had Sol). My fave Mexican brew is Negra Modelo, though.

Not all that wild about Heineken. I always liked Grolsch better, though I haven't had one in years.

Not anymore, you won't. When Heineken snapped up a number of breweries in eastern Europe (Czech and Slovak Republics) several years ago, the quality of the beer sharply declined.

Ah, that’s a shame.

BTW, just curious - was Pilsner Urquell one of the brands Heineken acquired?

It’s an SABMiller brand, as is Grolsch...

"Not all that wild about Heineken. "

Back in the 60-70 era, I put two of the Heineken children through medical school. I really loved it.

Then I must be putting their children through school.

I can’t stand the taste of Heineken beer. Hopefully they will do a better job on other brands. I will stick with Sam Adams on the rare occasion(in this time period)that I drink beer.

No, both Prazdroj and Radegast (used to be the best beer in the Czech Republic) are now owned by Miller.

Heineken bought Krusovice, Hostan and Starobrno (the only beer to actually improve under new ownership!) and are buying Kutna Hora and Znojmo and possibly Staropramen. Yes, the world is going to hell.
