I recently saw an article with a very perceptive quote: “my father was colored, I was Negro, my son is black and my grandson is African-American.”
It is time to get past “offensive” “labels.”
Labels can only be offensive if the person so labelled wishes to feel offended.
Example: the selective use of the “n-word” by certain people, even in their published songs, etc.
