If she supports pro-amnesty, cap and trade, and don’t drill in ANWR, maverick McCain, then she supports loyalty and political expediency over principle. I for one will not support her. Amnesty will destroy this country with the stroke of a pen.

To put it in full context, Palin is supporting a McCain who was for amnesty and cap and trade before he was against it.

I for one do not hold Sarah's support of McCain against her, similar to the way I didn't hold Ronald Reagan's choice of VP in '76 against him.

McCain is still in favor of amnesty. He has said he will not be supporting the current proposal in the House because it does not contain a guest worker program. He still supports legalizing the status of the 12 to 20 million illegals in this country, i.e., amnesty. His surrogate, Lindsey Graham, is working with Kerry on a cap and tax bill. I am sure that if McCain is reelected, he will support cap and tax.

The analogy of Palin's support of McCain to Reagan's support of Ford is a poor one. They are not analogous.

Reagan's VP choice in 76, made during the primary season, was liberal GOP Senator Richard Schweikert of Pennsylvania. Interestingly Schweikert had a much more conservative voting record for the rest of his term after Reagan picked him.
