Surreal. I got sick that day with a bad cold and had family over as well... and that was so surreal. I know now it was because my Mom and Dan knew that he has cancer (Stage 4 Lung, which is in his brain and liver as well) so it was very .... surreal. It was good... just well... bizarre. I am really close to my folks, so I think I knew with out knowing something was really wrong, but because I was really getting a bad cold, figured it was just the cold. It makes sense now of course.
The kids were happy and delighted, so for me thats a total win.
I hope yours was a lot better!
I am very sorry to read that.
I hope your loved one can recover, and that you find comfort with whatever transpires. In any event, let me offer you the words of Keats for whatever hope I and memory can provide: “A thing of beauty is a joy forever; its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness...”
Wishing the best to you and your family at this time
