I went to yahoo and read the article. It’s sickening to read about this half wit who has so much power. She’s a person of color so it’s all good.....lol
No kidding. How about *this* part:
Months after Katrina hit, Jackson was under consideration to be environmental chief for New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine a job she later took and she couldn't get back to New Orleans when her mother returned to Pontchartrain Park to clean up.
The house, like many in the neighborhood, was filled with 6 feet to 8 feet of water. There was no flood insurance to cover the damage, so Jackson's mother eventually sold the home to the state.
Jackson hasn't forgotten the photograph of her mother sent to her by the Catholic charity that helped gut her house. It shows Marie Perez in a wheelchair watching as all the belongings collected over her life were removed. She also can't forget how she was unable to financially help her mother to rebuild.
So - MONTHS after the storm, Jackson still hadn't found the time to help her mother go through that house and look for what little might be salvageable.
And - Jackson didn't hire anyone to go clean the house out; she waited for a charitable organization to go do it.
My favorite part - NO FLOOD INSURANCE. Sorry, but I just don't have any sympathy for idiots. My mother's house, in a different part of New Orleans, was similarly damaged. However, I made sure that she had adequate insurance on the home and on the contents.
She "couldn't help her mother financially"? Hell, I thought she was one of Tulane University's star graduates. Looks like she's just another loser who happened to hit the big time with a plum political appointment.
