ESPN analyst Craig James, whose complaints about the way his son was treated led to the dismissal of Texas Tech coach Mike Leach, may be considering a career change.
The former SMU football player said this week that he might consider running for U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchisons seat when she steps down this year.
"Im a Texan. Im concerned for our country," James told WFAA-TV. "I disagree with the approach that were having, things that are taking place, and so whatever door opens up, Ill look at it, if and when it opens up."
James, 49, joins a growing list of at least a half-dozen Texans who have expressed interest in running for Hutchisons seat.

Nary a one. I’m a Michael Williams supporter and the parent of three sons who played football. Just sharing my perspective — take it or leave it. :-)

Im impressed that Tech did the right thing with Leach. From what I hear about prior efforts to get rid of him, its pretty easy to believe that this isnt the first time hes crossed the line, just the first time there was enough proof to can him.
People tend to be passionate when it comes to sports, but it also causes people to look right past the real reasons for thing.
Mike Leach was not fired because he mistreated Adam James. He was fired because he was arrogant enough to take his employer to court.

This guy was The Great White Hope when he was a running back for the New England Patriots. Last white guy to hit 1,000 yards in a season (Alstott came really close).
BZZZTT!! WRONG!!!
Besides (and this is a joke) the persistent rumors that Craig James killed 5 prostitutes at SMU will linger. LOL

He’s dim, just listen to his announcing, but I think he’ll put an R behind his name.

He did...he is now the coach at Washington State.
Regarding, James anybody who takes extra benefits and knows there illegal has no right to run for political office ooops wait, never mind.
Texas Tech didn’t want to pay Leach a $800K bonus he was due. Adam James was just an excuse.
