Funny. Wasn't it right after the House voted for this mess that someone, a republican in the Senate, said the bill was dead on arrival in the Senate, yet it passed fairly easy? With Sodom on the Potomac, who knows what is going to happen.

2010 is an election year. House Dems in safe districts and Blue State senators can read the polls and aren’t ready to voluntarily retire. ObamaCare can fall apart.

The nice thing is that every time the Kenyan puts his mug in front of a TV camera, his polls go down.

On the day last year that Emanuel was named White House chief of staff, John Harris, the top aide to then-Gov. Blagojevich, began researching whether Blagojevich had the authority to appoint someone to temporarily fill Emanuel’s Northwest Side congressional seat, according to records that show the Web browser history on Harris’ state government computer.

The records show that Harris, who was Blagojevich’s chief of staff, Googled this exact search term on his state computer on Nov. 6, 2008: “temporary appointment to fill vacancies in the house of representatives.”

The confirmation of Harris’ Google search — which, by the way, yielded 308,000 hits — lends credence to previous Sun-Times reports that Blagojevich’s office was working with Emanuel at that time on a strategy that would enable Emanuel to one day reclaim his old House seat and vie for the powerful post of speaker of the House.

“The physics of this are unlikely to change much.”

BUT, Bendover Nelson said ALL states should get the sweetheart deal Nebraska got, Medicaid in perpetuity.

I'm from MASS: I WANT MY MEDICAID! And I want it in PERPETUITY! And, I don't want to pay for it... I want the other 49 states to PAY for it.

See post #4.

Interesting twist. Regardless if this bill passes or not the Rats are divided and Pelosi is likely toast. She has to sell out to her base to get this behemoth passed. If it doesn’t, she’ll be next under the bus.

And, just whom may be waiting in the wings?

Yes, but.............

As in the House, Senate Democrats decided to fall on their swords to pass Obama’s Glorious Legacy, but they played hard ball with Reid.

This has jumped up and bitten them in their collective, pampered butts. Ben Nelson is scrambling like a cat covering s**t. Senators are announcing their plans NOT to seek re-election. Heads will roll in November and they full-well know it.

The Dems in the House, a far more liberal/leftist bunch than even their Senate counterparts, are tone-deaf to the point of stupidity. They will fight for the Progressive Agenda in a big way, consequences in 2010 and 2012 be damned. Fine by me.

“It ain’t over ‘til it’s over”, and this one is FAR from over. I, for one, intend to pop some corn, sit back, and watch the carnage with great relish. :)

I hope we are not in the middle of a MSM smoke screen.
Seems to me if there was even a sliver of a chance that NO HEALTHCARE BILL will pass by Feb 1., then more drastic measures would be instituted to assure this bill passes. This would include letting the Blue Dog Dems (senators and Representatives) that the DNC will NOT support their reelection but instead would find and support more “team players”. It could also include character assassination of any of the 60 Senators that even mildly indicates they will not vote for the final bill (this of course means no more than 10 will be allowed to jump ship making it a 50-50 vote with Big Mouth Biden casting the tie breaker).
All in all I think this will be crammed down our throats just like every earmark, every pork project, every free Federal money scheme and every Freedom and Liberty robbing piece of legislation of the past 70+ years. Progressives are a patient lot. They may retreat but they will never surrender.
This is a BOHICA moment for sure. Darn it.

It was hardly easy. They had to make major concessions via Lieberman i.e. public option removal etc, and they had to pay off whores Nelson and Landrieu with big bucks, generating a lot of negative publicity.

It was nancyboy Grahamnesty that claimed the bill was dead in the Senate.

The Bill will fall apart.

The vote in the House won by only 3 votes.

Now, you have discontent by both the 'extreme' Left (no public option) and 'moderates' (removal of the anti-abortion provision).

Pelosi can't sell the Senate version unchanged.

Yes, but they are upset with the Senate version as well, no public option, which was their goal.

They don't want to support a Bill which in effect subsidies the Insurance companies (which they hate)

When Senator DeMint engineered, and Republican Leader McConnell actually objected to the appointment of the conferees, he was really handing the ball off to the left wingers — progressives if you will — and now they have their shot to either hold their own clan members who are against the Senate compromises and force them to vote No, or have their policy demands be ignored and take the crumbs from Senator Nelson’s and Senator Lieberman’s table.

Now, because of the Senator DeMint’s objection, unless the House votes for the Senate bill unchanged — which is highly unlikely (see below) — then the Senate ObamaCare bill must be amended on the House floor to gain the votes they need to pass it on the House floor. And because of Senator DeMint’s objection to the appointment of the conferees, there will be no conference, or conference report.

If the House amends the Senate bill, they then have to send the amended bill back to the Senate — where all the 60 vote margin cloture votes still apply — cloture on the motion to proceed, and cloture to end the filibuster and cloture on any amendment.

Correct........and my point, exactly. This is NOT over due to the incredibly leftist nature of the House Democrats.
