To no surprize, this whole thing is more about protecting Brand Obama than actually attempting to win a war.

Agreed.....when I was there (Afghan) we were almost shoulder to shoulder on base & the FOB’s.
The DFAC’s were very crowded and the sanitation was dubious and practically overburdened at some points. The process of acquiring more land and space for tent cities or LSA’s is unnecessarily bogged down in bureaucratic nonsense.
In the beginning in Iraq we could get things done fast - then the bureaucrats moved in when the toilets were up & running.
The sudden rapid influx of personnel would overwhelm the existing facilities.
Iraq was a veritable paradise compared to Afghanistan. The logistics of supply were far different there due to the availability of ports and a more developed systems of roads (if you wish to call it that).

Iraq was a veritable paradise compared to Afghanistan. You're telling me! Within about 48 hours of arriving here I found myself thinking, "I miss Iraq!" Never thought that would ever cross my mind...

If Obambi would stop using all the Heavy Lift capability to jet set his way around the world, there might be some left for troop support.

What is a TTP?
and thank you for your service.

Administration officials said that part of the White House frustration stemmed from the view that the longer the American military presence in Afghanistan continued, the more of a political liability it would become for Mr. Obama. If I remember correctly... Johnson and Nixon shared the same angst!

..... My prediction: This is the 0bama administration laying a preparatory foundation to blame the military for any possible failure, problem, or shortfall in Afghanistan.

...by what they say is the Pentagon's slow pace in deploying 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan and its inability to live up to an initial promise to have all of the forces in the country by next summer...
That's six months away, but they needed a tail to wag the dog. Thanks reaganaut1.

Senior White House advisers are frustrated by what they say is the Pentagons slow pace in deploying 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan and its inability to live up to an initial promise to have all of the forces in the country by next summer, senior administration officials said Friday.
Do these WH advisers, oops 'Senior advisers', think the military is like ACORN and one can just find 30,000 additional troops like ACORN finds 30,000 new phony voters? Apparently so.
And as to that 'promise'. Whose was it?
One by the imbecile Kenyan, or a person actually IN the military? My guess is the former.
