Another Failed Presidency (must read!)
The American Thinker ^ | 8-31-2009 | Dr. Geoffrey P. Hunt

Posted on 01/08/2010 6:31:43 PM PST by bigbob

Barack Obama is failing. Failing big. Failing fast. And failing everywhere: foreign policy, domestic initiatives, and most importantly, in forging connections with the American people. The incomparable Dorothy Rabinowitz in the Wall Street Journal put her finger on it: He is failing because he has no understanding of the American people, and may indeed loathe them.

It's that he's not one of us. And whatever he is, his profile is fuzzy and devoid of content, like a cardboard cutout made from delaminated corrugated paper. Moreover, he doesn't command our respect and is unable to appeal to our own common sense. His notions of right and wrong are repugnant and how things work just don't add up. They are not existential. His descriptions of the world we live in don't make sense and don't correspond with our experience.

I received this today by email and was surprised to find that even though it was published in August of 2009, I could not find that it has been posted on FR yet. This is probably one of the most accurate analyses of Obama yet, and Dr. Hunts theory is even more apparent today than it was 5 months ago.

(Note: there was a minor furor that this author was masquerading as a PhD social scientist from Institute for Scientific Analysis, but the author, of the same name is an executive in the electronics industry and a regular contributor to the American Thinker).

It was certainly worth the read.

Thanks for posting the article.

Obama is America’s First Failed Black Pres-dent..... “Fruit of Kaboom Bomber” was the 3rd attack on American soil within less than a year.

What should be expected from someone who spent their formative years in indonesia reciting the Koran and removed from American culture?

Too bad there isn’t a requirement that presidential candidates have to be American. The Founders thought that the gentlemen who were given the privilege of voting would have more sense than to elect someone with such an atypical background to the presidency. BO has absolutely nothing in common with the vast majority of U.S. citizens, having been brought up in a Leftist household with a hippie mother and a Muslim Communist father, who deserted him. He is a cold fish with zero personality who successfully bamboozled ignorant voters with his phony grin, tan skin, and the ability to read a teleprompter.

For clarity I shouldn’t have included “Dr.” in the author’s name as I think that refers to the other Geoffrey P. Hunt. Sorry for any confusion.

Failed presidencies matter, and not just for the person involved.

With every failed presidency, the country also takes a few steps down towards failure.

FDR took us many steps towards eventual failure. LBJ added some huge steps, and Obama is about to complete the final steps.

But, the president alone cannot be blamed. Congress deserves a lot of the blame and the case can be made that it deserves most of the blame.

I, as an second generation “legal” Polish American have nothing in common with this person that America foolishly elected as President. I can feel his disdain for people like me, who came from poverty to be someone through hard work and sacrifice. Now he wants to take that away from me for votes to keep him in power. The very sad part about this is the media lies that support this blantant take-over of American rights and freedom. It will be interesting to see what happens to these “useful idiots” once they find out that they are no longer useful.

He is a failure..unless his mission is to destroy free enterprise, private property, and American power. If that is his mission he is doing just fine.

His screwy mother and grandparents also loathed typical Americans and our culture - all his life he chose to hang around with angry bitter losers who loathed “the establishment”- in Ayers’ case, enough to destroy it with bombs and bullets

please don’t try to tell me obama was raised to be a great patriot or that he is mentally and emotionally a healthy person

He may very well loathe us as a group. I recall an except from one of his books in which he said he never felt at home until he got to Kenya.

Obama really doesn’t understand the American culture, not having grown up here. He seems to harbor a deep jealousy of us...of our expectation of success. I suppose he’s spent most of his life feeling like an outsider and being angry about it.

I would the federal courts are most to blame.

The Founders thought that the gentlemen who were given the privilege of voting would have more sense than to elect someone with such an atypical background to the presidency.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that during the constitutional debates about having a religious requirement, someone said something like, "well, what if they elect a Mohammedan?" to which the response was, basically, "if they are big enough idiots to do that, they get what they deserve." I have been looking for these records of the debate, but have not been able to find them. Anyone know what I refer to who can point me in the right direction?

Obama may or may not be a natural born american citizen and legally eligible to be president, I will leave that to others.

He is however, not an American, as clearly evidenced by the fact that he doesn't even know how many states there are. America is simply just a place on a map, a place to get his mail at present, but he doesn't live in America, he lives in his own global liberal paradise.

The US presidency is merely a tool for him to bring that paradise in to being. Acts of terrorism, wars, unemployment, a collapsing economy and insurmountable national debt are just inconvenient nuisances.

He quite simply couldn't care less about America and even less Americans.

Moreover, he doesn't command our respect and...

He throws like a little girl. Reason enough not to respect him. The rest about him commands as much respect as a fire hydrant from a dog. Biggest hoax ever foisted upon the American public.

He wants the Presidency to fail, but his power to grow.

A successful Presidency would not jive with his communist, anti-American agenda, folks.

It’s all about killing confidence, creating fear, creating uncertainty, and raising the pain level in general.

You’ll see.

They are causing the rot that they have lusted after for decades.

Once you accept that he is a communist the pieces fit together nicely.

The problem is that you believe that he is actually on the side of the US. Out of conditioning and denial your are projecting onto him the characteristics of an American President—he’s not an American President, as such. He is out to soften-up this country and change the fundamentals.

He has a dillema. He will get accustomed to the power and benefits of the US Presidency.

Getting the boot in 2012 is not going to go down well. Expect him to incite riots. He is that low.

I guess we all know that, and that why guns are flying off the shelves.
