YOU focussed on muslims. Not us. Knock it off.

Sorry Mesta, but YOU focused on Muslims in post number 8, when YOU suggested that Freepers work to prevent Mosques from being built on American soil. I responded as follows:

"Sorry My FRiend, but Religious Freedom is a cornerstone of the Republic.
"We cannot legitimately cry foul when Muslim nations prohibit Christian Churches from being built or when Muslim nations prohibit the spreading of the gospel of Christ when we are willing to do the same to Muslims here in our country.
If this is going to be an integral part of the platform of this movement, count me out."

From there I was attacked by you and several of your FRiends for somehow being a Muslim sympathizer (and even accused of being a closet Muslim) and I chose to defend myself and my political position and I believe that I have been consistent throughout this thread arguing that regardless of what I believe about Muslim doctrine or theology (I have stated that I believe it is Satanic in origin), they have as much a right to believe according to the dictates of their conscience as any other person and to deny them the right to build mosques or to otherwise use THE STATE to squelch their religious liberty is wrong.

Yet the attacks from your side continued and I continued to defend my position from a CONSTITUTIONAL standpoint and you guys kept throwing religious arguments about why we basically should "not suffer a Muslim to live".... in America.

If you are looking for someone to blame for this thread not going the way you wanted it to go, then go back to post 8 and blame the poster that brought the Muslims into the discussion and suggested that the Constitutional guarantees of Freedom of Religion ought not to apply to Muslims.

I am not supporting any Muslim idea, but I am supporting the right of a Muslim to believe whatever they believe so long as their practice of that religion does not violate any laws that do not apply to all religions equally or to all citizens equally.
