A slight change in subject from SP, the R party is a disaster only held together (mostly) by being a small minority able to oppose everything and win by default(because dems are so bad). They will win Seats this year by default, but I agree with Steele on this one point, I see little else they offer. A vacuum of ideas. I am in the minority here in being happy he says it.

Well, I'm in there with you. I hate to say it, but he's right-on if we don't see something more from the GOP than we've seen so far. Those in the party who were responsible for the McCain debacle are obviously banking on using the same tactics in coming election. Goodness know, NY-23 shows where their heads are right now.

The only hope I see is that someone can arouse the masses and build a big enough following that the GOP will HAVE to deal with them or lose for sure. Right now that person would appear to be Sarah Palin. She might not be, but until we have some evidence to the contrary I think she offers our best shot at forcing the GOP to represent us.

The other thing I see right now that might have a significant impact on bring the GOP around is how much money is being sent directly to conservative candidates, bypassing the GOP. That's the kind of message they will have to pay attention to these days.

Time will tell!
