Buried in a blog item by Newsweek's ace reporter Michael Isikoff is a bombshell. Apparently lawyers for Guantanamo detainees want to keep their clients in Guantanamo, rather than transfer them to the Obama administration's proposed new prison in Illinois:

Well, Obama needs to tell these terrorists what he told the rest of us: “I won”. It would be ironic indeed if the US Gov’t ends up in court DEMANDING that terror detainees be transferred onto US soil.
I've been to Gitmo a number of times. I can promise you that if you're going to be locked in a cage, you'd much rather be locked in a cage that has pleasant tropical breezes and occasional glimpses of the Caribbean sunshine, rather than the cold, sterile walls of a mid-western prison in the middle of February.
For crying out loud, they are terrorists, not stupid. Which would you like, winter in Cuba or Illinois? This is just one more example of Liberals and unintended consequences.

We know a liberal woman and once asked her why she wanted Gitmo closed. We asked her why she cared if terrorists are there. She had no answer.
