That has been my angle as well. All these other Constitutional challenge questions, they run along the lines of "Where in the Constitution is Congress given the authority to mandate purchase of a product or service?" I say it's deeper than that, as you note, the question should be "Where in the Constitution is Congress authorized to deny the citizen his liberty if he does not purchase said product or service?"
