Your story sounds very much like my experience here in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Back in 1992 one of my kids was doing a project with his 3rd grade class to learn about the upcoming election, and so I went up to Doylestown (the county seat) to visit the Democrat and Republican campaign offices and pick up some buttons and bumper stickers.

First I visited the Democrat office, and it was a beat-up store front with a big glass window in a busier part of the boro where there was a lot of pedestrian traffic. I walked into a big open area and saw people in jeans and sweatshirts hustling in and out and all over the place. Posters and papers were piled up on old steel desks, the phones were ringing, and everybody was talking fast, seemingly out of breath, and happy about it... The people there were only too pleased to stop what they were doing for a moment and hand me some buttons and stickers and even a poster. I walked out of that place onto the sidewalk and was almost out of breath myself.

Then I went to the Republican headquarters over in a part of town where many of the 3-story Victorians have been converted to law offices, and wow, was that place impressive! The entry parlor had cherrywood “judge-paneling”, the floor was magnificent, the furniture was high-end traditional, and the cherry front desk looked like I had walked into the Waldorf Asoria hotel. I was almost waiting for somebody to take my bags! Shortly, a young man in a nice suit and tie came out from the back and greeted me with a smile. He was the only person I saw. He listened to me politely and then went through the door and into the back to get me some buttons and bumper stickers.

When I walked out of that place I KNEW the election was already over.

Fire me or shut up!

That is not the correct response, the correct
answer would have been, how can I better serve
the needs of the people I represent, many of
them feel I am not living up to their expectations.

I had observed Mr. Steele prior to his becoming
chairman and thought he would make a good leader
but he just has not exhibited the kind of drive
I consider necessary when confronting adversaries
of the type we find in Obama and his minions.

I do not want to “Get Along”.

I’m very outspoken on conservative issues. I don’t live my life through a prism of race — that’s what liberals do.

I detest being condescended to as though I need to be protected from the repercussions of my choices. 99.9% of the racial insults directed at me in my life have come from ignorant liberals (mostly other blacks). I had one jerk make a derogatory comment to me at a tea party in Franklin, TN. But those around me set him straight before I could respond.

I apologize to no one for my conservatism. There is no excuse for Mr. Steele not articulating conservative principles and playing hardball with liberals and rinos.

Doesn’t he sometimes have foot in the mouth disease (like our current chairman)?

Count me as one that believes he is doing a decent job. He’s had some flubs, but he does well in interviews. It drives the media insane that an articulate, conservative, African American is heading up the GOP.

He may not be conservative enough for some people here, but he has to be pragmatic. He has helped to neutralize some of the tired, old, left wing labels against conservatives by his mere presence.

NY 23 sucked, but I’d love to know what other options were out there. I’d also argue the GOP has done well (for once) in some of the issues of the day...health care stance, etc.

These remarks are quite out of context. Watch this video if you can. Brown is a fiscal conservative who will vote against Oblimpo care.

Ayers didn’t admit he wrote it. He said, “Where are my royalties?” Joke. Unless you have a different source.

I’d be very happy to fire him. Can someone tell me how we go about doing that? If big donors not donating doesn’t get him fired what will? Whose job is it to fire Steele? Maybe we should send that guy some emails.

I believe it takes a 2/3rds vote of the 168 Republican National Committee members to replace the chairman.

Here is the list of them. Contact the ones from your state
