What are the chances those same words would have come out of Meehl's mouth if the temperature was one degree above normal for this time of year? Nope, it would have been birds bursting into flame in mid-air style global warming.
We were in South West Florida this morning and I had to delay our scheduled departure for almost 4 hours while we waited for the sun to melt the ice that had accumulated on the wings and fuselage of the jet overnight.
The airport had no de-icing equip.
Good old AP telling us what we should think instead of actually reporting the news...
I just saw on the NOAA website they changed the freeze watch to a warning for Miami.

I’ve noted before these people are just like the “experts” that appear on Art Bell Coast to Coast. It’s very easy to spin a story and explain stuff away.
The Earth has been getting cooler for several years. Under their theories that shouldn’t be happening, or at least it demonstrates that any warming can’t be as catastrophic as they claim, if it is so weak that record cold spells still occur.
They’ll just wait for a warmer year and jump up and down about how THAT proves the end is nigh.
And we all know what an expert is dont we?
We’re headed into a cold spell and these fools are telling people to buy fans. And they will take no responsibility for deaths from the cold. I believe that to be evil.

Sure there was a long term heating trend, because ANY rise in temperature coming out of a Little Ice Age which ended in the mid 1800s, would be a 'warming trend'.
Nor does it prove AGW, APidiots.
Not surprising. I don’t know if warming really exists or not but I sure as hell have nothing to do with it.
So, we’ll just have fewer ice ages?
