PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Federal authorities say a disruptive passenger has been released without charges after military jets escorted a jetliner back to Portland. The FBI says there is no known link to terrorists.
Military officials say the jets were sent up Wednesday as a precaution.
The action comes amid heightened concern about airline security and the charge that a Nigerian man tried to blow up a jetliner bound for Detroit on Christmas Day.
The FBI says it questioned a 56-year-old man from Salem, Ore., and turned the matter over to federal prosecutors.
A spokeswoman for the Transportation Security Administration says the passenger made threatening remarks and refused to stow his carry-on luggage. The flight was bound for Hawaii.

The Fruit-of-the-Loom guy would have successfully blown up that plane regardless of all that if he had got the mixture and/or detonating procedure right. The passenger that jumped on him did it after the fact of the fizzled detonation.
They didn;t know how to pronounce "Mohammed."
