WASHINGTON Interior Secretary Ken Salazar on Wednesday announced policy changes he said will bring more scrutiny and greater public voice in how oil and gas leases are awarded on public lands.
Salazar said the changes should ensure stricter environmental standards in oil and gas leasing while bringing more clarity to the process to energy companies hoping to drill on public lands, mostly in Western states.

Sadly, by the time the sheeple wake up to that fact, Dear Leader and his Chicago Thug Advisors and all of his CZARS, will be long gone and regardless, it will too late!
“Salazar announces tougher rules on drilling”
Typical RAT ruling. At a time when unemployment is at least 15% (not 10.2% as gov’t claims), as we send billions of bucks to third world terror nations the RATS continue to destroy our way of life. Open up drilling, put thousands back to work, cut the price of fuel oil and gas and get this country back on track.

“Under the reforms, the department’s Bureau of Land Management, which oversees onshore drilling activities, would take a more active role in deciding which parcels of federal lands should be leased instead of relying on energy companies to nominate the areas they want to explore. “
A government bureaucrat is going to tell an oil company where to drill, a doctor when and where to cut, a car company what to make. unbelievable...

This will hurt states like Colorado (where I live), where 1/3 of the land is public. It will help states like Texas, where virtually all land is in private hands. Luckily, my mineral right holdings are in Texas.
The Warriorness from the Tundra needs to blast this hard.
I have some mineral rights in Texas also. However, do not expect to escape rat wrath. The rats have eliminated the depletion allowance and other tax preferences. If oil prices spike (will be largely the result of rat restrictions), expect more punitive tax measures. The rats have systematically attacked the conventional energy industry driving up costs to explore and produce energy while subsidizing their favored (but non economically viable) forms of energy. I see an energy meltdown in our future.
Tundra is a Sami word and the language of my mothers' people. Maybe the only Sami word in widespread use.

Well, you know how important the preservation of our Virgin Wilderness is to the Inner City Ghetto Community.
