Ask him if the Constitution places any limits on the legislation that Congress can pass.
If yes, please identify what those limits are, and does a law mandating people purchase approved health insurance fall within those limits.
If not, then are you saying Congress can pass any law about anything, as long it supports “the general welfare”? And are the 9th and 10th Amendments to the Constitution just so much hot air, because they state that powers not specifically given to the Federal Government are reserved to the States and the People?
