Byron Dorgan, who was first elected to the Senate in 1992 after serving a dozen years in the U.S. House, said he reached the decision after discussing his future with family over the holidays.

It’s done. The GOP will completely take over the Dakotas in the next eight years. I went to UND and dated a girl from a farm town in North Dakota. Her Dad, an agronomist, and a loyal Conrad supporter told me, “The only reason I vote for him is because he brings the ag-dollars.” I think that they’ve finally gotten over the pork fever and have realized what their Democrats actually support.
