I would rather see Ritter run for a 2nd term. Easier to defeat.

For someone who was “beatable” why was he doing OK fundraising?

ObamaNation could be in full retreat.
I am not sure we want to see the total collapse of a Presidency, but it cannot be any worse than the success of Obama’s Presidency.

Ritter ran as a moderate and proved to be a lib. I don’t think the libs have a chance in CO this year.

The big question here in CO is who will take his place as the Dem candidate?

Yep.

Maybe Hickenlooper will run. Can’t imagine him having state-wide appeal.

Whenever an incumbent decides not to seek re-election then that is great news for the opposing party. Ritter decided to opt out simply because he has seen the polls, and they are bad news for him, Bennett and the Dem party in CO and across the country in 2010.

I’m not a fan of Hick either, but he is popular in Denver. He would be a lot more difficult to beat than Ritter.

I don’t see Hickenlooper having any more popularity than Ritter in Denver. They, IMO, would draw the same number of voters.

Just saw this minutes before on Politics1 newsfeed page. Problem with these weak Dems dropping out isn’t necessarily a slam-dunk for us. I’d rather he have run, ditto Cherry in MI. Having new Dem nominees with stronger grassroots appeal means we’re going to have to work harder to win.
