The rapid introduction of full body scanners at British airports threatens to breach child protection laws which ban the creation of indecent images of children, the Guardian has learned.
Privacy campaigners claim the images created by the machines are so graphic they amount to "virtual strip-searching" and have called for safeguards to protect the privacy of passengers involved.
Ministers now face having to exempt under 18s from the scans or face the delays of introducing new legislation to ensure airport security staff do not commit offences under child pornography laws.

Are you telling me that doctors don’t undress children to treat injuries, and can’t create x-rays and other images? The UK laws are so poorly written they would prohibit law enforcement from checking for bombs?
And here's the new patch the TSA scanner operators are going to be required to wear while performing their "job":
This particular newspaper enjoys expressing points of view that undercut the nation’s welfare. The editors feel powerless, and are desperate to become relevant...this is their sick way of achieving meaningful lives.
Okay, here is a question. Who would you trust with a "revealing picture" of your 15 year old daughter. Her doctor or some TSA flakey?
I can just see it now ... child porn collectors working really hard to become airport screeners.
Good question. And not just the airport screener. The images will be stored for future use — much like security camera footage in banks, etc. Some celebrities can’t be too happy about this. You just know that Rush’s scan will be uploaded to YouTube....
Agreed, the point is the scan is not for child porn it is for bombs. Hard to believe that is illegal, or that it should be interpreted as an “indecent” image.
Oh great, now liberals will start applying for all the TSA jobs
