Annapolis has historical experience with climate warnings (Jefferson was a climate denier)

Annapolis has experience with climate scares. For its first 150 years, the world's greatest scientists declared that the Western Hemisphere's climate was harmful to all living creatures. They said animal species and natives were underdeveloped . . .

Just like today, almost anything bad was blamed on the harmful climate of the New World. In other words, the 1700s' scientific facts and forecast make today's worst climate predictions seem cheery.

The leading naysayer was Thomas Jefferson, who, for years, vehemently challenged the accuracy of the sources and qualifications of the collectors of data. In fact, the only book Jefferson ever wrote, "Notes on the State of Virginia," was written as a rebuttal to the climate scare "experts." . . .

The political correct position is to believe that we are on the brink of huge increases in sea levels. However, it is obvious that no one really believes it. What is the proof that no one believes the Al Gore 20' rise in sea level coming soon?

1. The Navy would be moving the Academy and leveling the buildings, if they believed it will be under water soon . . .

2. . .

So, I predict that in another 250 years, Annapolitans will laugh at the silly naturalists and climate scientists of 2009, the way we now laugh at the silly predictions of scientists 260 years ago . . .

You have one person, the writer of this Op-ed who isn't a freak. There must be more.

(and at least you don't have Yale and Wesleyan as my freak state does).

From bitterly cold to very hot.

Only North America has a great plain, open to both tropic and arctic air flows. No blocking mountain range.
