We need to invent a new word.
Dumb and stupid just don’t quite define this.
like: between ages 17-45
like: same ethnic extraction
etc...
and let little old great grannys like me go through the security check with only ONE person feeling and scrunching my hair up-sweep and turning down the waistband of my jeans and feeling around and around, each and every inch...
and not insisting I take off a shirt that they kept insisting was NOT a shirt, but a jacket. I had already taken off my jacket and put it in the tray and explained what they demanded I take off was a SHIRT. Fortunately, that time, I had a tank top on under it. But I was so furious by that time, I would've taken it off with NOTHING underneath and let them answer to that.
Another time, I had 3 factory wrapped boxes of watercolors - in tiny 1/4 ounce tubes, for my grandkids. They went ballistic over the scanner - called supervisors, took me aside, went through my bag: “You can't take these on board!”
“Well, I can't leave them behind. They're B-day gifts for my grandkids”
We went round and round - me saying, “I know about the limit of liquids or gels in any one container. These tiny tubes are way below that...and are in factory sealed boxes.”
They wouldn't back down and neither would I. I had visions of disappearing into a back room, never to be seen again when they relented and said, “WEll. you'll have to go back downstairs and check the bag through there.”
That was a lot of time and steps for this ole lady - but I made my flight - WITH the paints.
IDIOTS.
Reminds me of when Slim Pickens was caught with the Cracker Jacks compass.
