Uh-oh.
From the Homeland Security system that worked, we now have word that Secretary Janet Napolitano is mobilizing a broad response to the underwear bomber. As part of this security review, Napolitano is dispatching her deputy, Jane Holl Lute, on a broad international outreach effort to review security procedures with leaders from major international airports in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South America.
Who is Jane Holl Lute? Or, more precisely, what kind of hands-on experience is presumed to qualify Lute for the serious responsibility of serving as the #2 official at Homeland Security?
Why, the United Nations, of course. Before joining the Obama Department of Homeland Security, Lute worked for six years as an assistant-secretary-general in the UNs Department of Peacekeeping Operations. During that stretch, UN peacekeeping expanded at speed, and so did the related procurement corruption and peacekeeper sex scandals....

Janet is mobilizing a “broad response”? No further comment ;-)

Deputy Secretary Jane Holl Lute has over thirty years of military and senior executive experience in the United States government and at the heart of efforts to prevent and resolve international crises.
Ms. Lute served as Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, responsible for support to peacekeeping operations. In this capacity, Ms. Lute managed operational support for the second-largest deployed military presence in the world. At the United Nations, Ms. Lute led rapid-response support to a wide variety of operations and crises in some of the most remote, austere, and dangerous environments in the world. She also effectively directed the growth of United Nations Peacekeeping support from a $1.8 billion to nearly $8 billion operation. Most recently, Ms. Lute led the United Nations initiative designed to coordinate efforts to build sustainable peace in countries emerging from violent conflict.
Prior to joining the United Nations, Ms. Lute served on the National Security Council staff under both President George H.W. Bush and President William Jefferson Clinton.
Ms. Lute was Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of the United Nations Foundation and the Better World Fund, the entities established to administer Ted Turner’s $1 billion contribution to support the goals of the United Nations. She also headed the Carnegie Commission on Preventing Deadly Conflict and was a senior public policy fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
Ms. Lute had a distinguished career in the United States Army, including service in the Gulf during Operation Desert Storm.
Ms. Lute has a Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University, and a J.D. from Georgetown University.

Homeland security “Keep the Peace” division of the United Nothings.
Great job Janet backtrackapono. The system does work when it’s business as usual.
Let me make sure I understand.
Instead of PROFILING, Incompetanto has appointed some UN flunkie to run up an airline tab — while helping to lay down a bigger carbon bootprint (global warming, ya know) — to conduct MEETINGS with airport officials in other nations?
How’s this for an idea: Obowzo has added so many people to the government payroll, put a close family member of the GS 14s and about on EVERY flight to the US originating in one of the “problem” nations. I’ll bet profiling will be under way within 2 days!
Janet Reno look alikes?
Stupid is what stupid does...
Do you ever feel like you are being set up?
Napolitano would be best to contact the Israeli’s if she doesn’t know what to do. Forget the UN.
Napolitano’s handling of the Panty-bomber tells us ALL we need to know about her abilities. She should resign before she humiliates herself even more OR she gets us all killed.
Actually, Obama has implemented profiling. I heard on the radio today that the US is implementing "enhanced airline screening" in a number of Muslim and terrorist countries for passengers bound for the US. In essence, the US has outsourced its profiling into foreign countries.
Smoke and Mirrors
Mirrors and Smoke
The problem is that Obama reduced the level of security and
put an incompetent in charge of Homeland Security with the goal of using the department to harass conservatives and to further the leftist agenda.
Additionally, just his attitude and comments cause people to be lackadaisical about security because they know anti-terror is not an Obama priority.
Their main concern right now is to stop the bad press they are getting from the security breach and Janet Incompetano’s idiotic remarks, and get the leftist media back on track making excuses and covering up for the administration.
Nigeria has criticised new security measures for passengers flying to and from the United States as unfair and said they amounted to discrimination against 150 million people.
The US government has announced that travellers from 14 countries, including Nigeria, are to be subjected to extra checks including body pat-downs, after a young Nigerian was accused of trying to blow up a US jet on Christmas Day.
A-Hussein is replaced in 2012.
B-The new Republican majorities in both houses in 2011 puts a halt to this madness and opens hearings on EVERYTHING.
Why not hire AQ operative - they know what they are planning better than anyone?
Just extending lib-tard logic to it’s ultimate conclusion.
GREAT!
And — ahh — would the folks DOING that profiling happen to be OTHER MUZZIES who might be disposed to see that the next batch of murderers have enough binaries to do the job??
Sounds Obowzoproof (aka foolproof) to me.
