Michaele and Tareq Salahi were not the only uninvited guests at the White House state dinner in honor of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
At the last minute, someone from the Indian diplomatic delegation invited a man to attend the White House event on Nov. 24 without the knowledge or consent of the White House.
As with the Salahis, the Secret Service ignored the fact that the man was not on the guest list and failed to conduct a background check on him.
This new example of Secret Service laxness came to light when the agency was investigating why Secret Service Uniformed Division officers let the Salahis into the state dinner.
At a hearing on Dec. 3 by the House Homeland Security Committee, Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., asked Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan whether any other interlopers might have been allowed into the event by the Secret Service.
Maam, that was a concern of mine, as well, Sullivan replied. That is something we have focused on; I cannot talk about it in this setting, but I believe that I can satisfy you in explaining that there were no other people there that night that should not [have been let in].
Subsequently, the Secret Service examined surveillace video of arriving guests and attempted to match the images with the guest list. The agency spotted an African-American man wearing a tuxedo who had not been invited. He appeared to be with members of the Indian delegation.

What about the convicted felon Robert Creamer? He was there. Oh, that’s right.. He was invited.
The social secretary is too busy par-taying!
I don’t buy for one minute the Secret Service just let him in.. SOMEONE TOLD THEM TO LET HIM IN! The SS is being used as a fall guy by the inept and incompetent folks in the White House.
The “crashers” turn out to have been invited; they weren’t crashers at all, and yet the press keeps pounding that point.
Either the White House doesn’t follow its own protocol, which is possible, or keeps overriding the Secret Service, which is possible, or the third scenario, which is that they are preparing a case for O establishing his own inner security ring of people who answer only to himself.
But but but Brennan insisted he main concern with the briefing from the Saudi’s was that an pantie bomber might assassinate the president.
We definitely have the lame leading the blind here.
Wonder how the Indian’s feel about having their safety so compromised.
So true.
What ... me work? We have people for that ...
“DO you suppose 0bama or MO is looking for Panthers to guard him, as in no White, Republican, former military guys need apply?”
Would you want them to guard you? Even Obama knows those guys are gate-mouthed clowns. There is a fine line between security and gatekeeper. Obama doesn’t want to disrespect his players so he wants a loose security. If something bad happens, the media will just blame the loose security.
No win for the Secret Service.
Yeah but none of the border crossers are seated in the Oval Office.
Give it time.
