A lot of stuff fell into place for me when I watched the press conference with the Tech D coordinator. When they asked him if he'd like to be the head coach and did the "Double yes" thing (for those who don't know Texas Tech has a little colloquialism where they say Double T for Tech) it became clear. Tech wanted a company man that bled red and black. Leach, for all he did, wasn't a company man.

The Double Yes was the D Coordinator's way of saying, "Hey, I'm a company guy! Everything at Tech will ALWAYS be wonderful on my watch! Want to know what I think? Wait a minute! I'll ask the athletic director what I think and then I'll tell you!"

The defensive coordinator’s open disloyalty to Leach is not going to help him get another job or even keep his current one when TT hires someone else.
