The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has called on President Obama to address what it called an "alarming level of anti-Islam hate in our nation."

In a letter to President Obama, CAIR cites the following incidents as proof of a rising problem of Islamophobia that must be met by immediate federal response:

• a cross with the message "Christian nation, Christian community" was planted at the site of a planned mosque and an anti-Islam Christmas display was set up by a church in Florida.

• anti-Islam brochures distributed in the parking lot of a Washington state Islamic school

• hate-filled fliers posted in a Minnesota Somali community

• an attack on a Sikh youth in Texas who was mistaken for a Muslim

• the painting of "Go Home Sand N**ger" on an Idaho Muslim's truck

• the harassment of a Muslim bank customer in Illinois because of her Islamic head scarf

• an attack on another Illinois Muslim after the Fort Hood shootings

• a call by far-right members of the U.S. House of Representatives to investigate Muslim interns on Capitol Hill as "spies"

• the ethnic intimidation of an Ohio Muslim who found a noose and a toy camel on his door

Someone needs to post that list of atrocities against the US and her citizens by muslims...you know, little things like bombings, beheadings, hijackings, pirating, etc.

CAIR is the far east version of the NAACP....blame everyone else but conveniently forget to clean up your own back yards.

They could be using this time, expense and energy explaining to their "brethren" that islam supposed to be the "religion of peace"...there must have been a bunch of korans printed with that page missing.

This country has made it fine for hundreds of years without islam...in fact, it is great because we didn't have to put up with islam...and I don't know how much of it America will tolerate.

When I was sent to Europe in the military, they went to great strides to remind us that WE were the tourists...not the Europeans. Someone needs to remind the towel heads that this is OUR country, and if our customs and traits bother them, they need to mount a camel and go back home.

CAIR is a voice of hatred and intimidation in America. By supporting the islamic goal of a global caliphate, they make themselves known for what they really are: intolerant hate mongers with an agenda of death, destruction and decay; much like the balance of islamic history.

I am a professed Christian. We are taught to love our neighbors. I try to practice this and fall short many, many times. It is most difficult to do this when a group of people are either trying to kill you or plotting to kill you their every waking moment. They are simply hiding behind our Constitution and/or playing on the general compassionate tendencies of the American people to appear as the victim rather than the agressor. Only when the Muslim community makes an concerted effort to cull their own miscreants will I give them any consideration in this. Although I certainly may have missed it, I don’t remember reading about a Buddhist monk, a Hindu holy man, or even an avowed atheist trying to blow up an airplane or strapping a bomb on themselves and pressing the switch. Muslims need to change, not me.
