Before I got this breaking e-mail alert, I got a call from my son who is at Newark. His Continental flight to Germany (he's based in Germany) was scheduled to depart at 7:15. He just called to tell us that they've evacuated Terminal C.

Here’s the info from Fox’s site:
Newark Liberty International Airport is on lockdown on reports of a man breaching security at the Continental Airlines terminal, according to a cable news report.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the agency that operates the airport, tells Fox News their police department is assisting the Transportation Security Administration with a possible security breach at Terminal C.

I once spent 10 hours sitting in Liberty Int’l waiting for a delayed flight. What a shite hole that place is.

Good as place as any to post this:
I've been pondering this the past couple days. In wake of the recent news of fresh attempts against the U.S., if I were trying for soft targets, I would certainly focus in on the next few weeks as a LOT of overtime and extra security was on watch over the holidays. Meaning, security will probably be a little more relaxed at differing locations over the next couple weeks as "manpower" and "man hours" have been exhausted.
Stay aware all..

I always prefer flying in and out of Newark when I go to NYC and Continental is my preferred carrier.... but these days I stay as far away from airports as possible...

but these days I stay as far away from airports as possible...Yep. I got on a plane for the final time of my life in February 2001.

I always prefer flying in and out of Newark when I go to NYC and Continental is my preferred carrier.... My company's preferred carrier is Continental, which is great since we're in Columbus and they have a hub in Cleveland. Also, we do a fair bit of business in Houston, another hub. But for NYC, that means Newark. Argghh...that place is a pit.

LOL! My husband built that terminal. He was the project Superintendent.

From your link:
Police are seeking the individual, who walked from the public side to the sterile side, said TSA spokeswoman Anne Davis. No flights were allowed to leave from Terminal C Sunday evening, she said.Authorities are reviewing video from airport cameras. They are not sure whether the man was once on the sterile side and went back, or if he never went through screening, Davis said.
I don't get this. Are they reviewing tapes after the fact and see someone go through without going through security or what?

LOL! My husband built that terminal. He was the project Superintendent.LOL! He was just following orders! It's the architect who should have to go there every day.

I hate that terminal. All the ambiance of the bus station ...That pretty much sums up most airport terminals today ... people wandering around in shorts, flip flops, and tank tops. In colder climes they might wear a little more but I'm sure you get my drift.

My preferred airport in this area is Whiteplains.
