White House counterterrorism chief John Brennan is maintaining the system to protect the U.S. against attack worked successfully this year apart from the Christmas Day bombing attempt — a claim that seems to downplay the notion that deadly attacks at Fort Hood in Texas and a military recruiting center in Arkansas represented a failure of intelligence gathering.
Asked Sunday on NBC's "Meet The Press" about the lead-up to the Christmas Day attack, Brennan said, "Every other day the system has worked this year....The system is working. It's just not working as well as it needs to constantly."

What a complete and utter moron. It only takes once. This is the type of stuff that can make a person's head fly off.
Just heard him on FNC with Chris Wallace. His insistence that O. works as hard as any president has to defeat terrorism and Al Qaeda shows me that he is a blind food, incompetent to be in a public position of importance.

Brennan is delusional. If the system worked according to him how does he explain all these security lapses that have occurred over the last year. These lapses and breaches of security show just how dangerous this administration is and does not care about the American people, allowing Americans to be lulled into this false sense of security and this administration’s purposeful downplaying of terrorism. The current administration is one of the most dangerous administrations in American history with regard to protecting the homeland and the American people from attack.
If it wasn’t for that one single day in September, 2001 was a pretty good year too.

And in NYC, Sep 11th, 2001 was one of the most beautiful autumn days - nice temps, clear blue skies, a very gentle breeze... delightful weather.
Except for all that icky smoke coming from downtown Manhattan, Pennsylvania and DC, it was a very nice day up and down the east coast.
