Huh? I thought they must have done that because that’s what Cheney wants Obama to do now. So they gave Richard Reid all “Constitutional rights, gave him a civilian trial and didn’t waterboard him or execute him. It’s kind of funny Cheney would criticize Obama for doing the same thing with this guy.

Going from memory, I can’t recall even a single execution, from military tribunals or civil trials.
I noticed Lieberman stating that the crotchbomber shouldn’t get civilian criminal justice treatment, Miranda, etc.
And that is more/less the concept raised by Cheney.
But the facts on Reid and possible others doesn’t give them much to go with.
