Any sane business owner is a fool to stay in N.Y. and do business.
Calif. N.Y. N.J. and a few others, WHY stay and get screwed?

9 years later it’s still a crater. And the city is hellbent on attracting welfare recipients and driving out taxpayers. Liberalism is a complete mental disorder.

New York State is broke.

They are now looking at everything as source of revenue.

Going John Galt is looking better every day.

Sarcastic Tone? I thought you out and out called the idiot an idiot, which the idiot deserves to be called. BTW, I take it he is in the fire supression / inspection racket. These guys / those guys have done a wonderful job of taking this country for a ride installing stuff that does not do what it is supposed to do, and top a large extent is a greater potential hazard that the fires that they are designed to suppress.

I am aware of an issue where these guys insisted that a fire suppression system be installed in a building with A LOT of taxpayer funded optics and electronics, which the system almost destroyed in a failure. Subsequently, the crooks tried to backtrack and say that a different system should have been installed, and they are happy to recommend the switchover at our expense. The right answer is probably that no automatic system should have been installed, because there is nothing to burn. The damage and cost to the taxpayers would have been staggering - don't ask, but some state deficits are smaller numbers.

In my view these so called "fire suppression subject matter experts" are just swindlers, crooks and whores who managed to insinuate themselves into a risk averse environment run by incompetents who don't know how to do anything.

Nahhhh.
Hell, seems about 65 percent of govt is absolutely worthless and when it cones to congress that number is closer to 100 percent.

Don’t forget the ejection seats... Every secretary should’ve had an ejection seat.

Care to describe the building code that would have protected those towers from the planes?

I can hardly wait to learn.

These same crooks and swindlers are now working to get governments to enact residential fire sprinkler mandates. Watch out for it in a State House near you.

And watch as insurance premiums soar because of all the water damage to homes caused by fire sprinkler malfunctions. Of course the excuse will be that the systems need to be maintained properly, and for a mere $279.99 annual maintenance fee we will keep your system operating fine [fine print: covers inspection only and any actual work we discover needs to be done will be at $175 per hr labor plus parts. Limited warranty on parts of 3 months. Note: While extensive studies have demonstrated that sprinkler systems can reduce repair costs and save lives in fires, no warranty is expressed or implied that your FiRetard SpRinkleR SIStem will actually save any life or protect any property.]

Here in New Hampshire they didn’t even wait for the full legislature - the unelected Building Code Review Board imposed the sweeping residential mandate starting 2012. They’re trying to get legislation through to block the mandate now.

Their cost estimate is $3,200 for a 2,000 square foot house.

I think you and I are on the same page. I do not thing you can design for a 400 to 500,000 LB. aircraft fully loaded with fuel to be purposely flown into a building at 400-500 mph.

The questions about the sprinklers and fireproofing are red herrings, my only point is that Larry Silverstein rented the buildings, he did not build the buildings.
