I put a piece of pvc pipe over the metal support for my bird feeder. I helically wound some bare wire around the pipe like a barber pole. This got connected to an electric fence charger. Next problem was to dispose of all the squirrel poop !.
If that was a solar powered electric fence charger then maybe you could get a carbon credit for each squirrel fried.
