Dr. Walter E. Williams, Professor of Economics at GMU, guest hosted on New Year's Eve
"Rush was taken to a hospital in Honolulu after complaining of chest pains, the kind of pains that makes one feel like he has a heart attack coming on, but it's not been confirmed that it was a heart attack. Thursday, he'll have a complete examination and we'll know more. And we'll keep everyone informed when there's information to share. Rush is in good and stable condition, comfortable -- as comfortable as one can be in a hospital while on vacation -- and he's in good hands." -Dr. Williams

The annual discussion of ideas, economics, and history. (Rush 24/7 Members: Listen)
Dr. Williams Explains Why the Decade Isn't Over Tonight (Rush 24/7 Members: Listen)
"It's not a new decade! The new decade -- or the second decade of the second
millennium -- does not start until 365 days from today." -Dr. Walter E. Williams

|
|
Dr. Williams Interviews Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) (Rush 24/7 Members: Listen)
"There's no comparison whatsoever between being required to buy auto insurance and health insurance. Driving a car is a licensed enterprise and you agree to the requirements. That's not health insurance. The only comparison would be if people were required -- children, the blind, infants -- to buy auto insurance whether they own a car or not." -Dr. Williams
Please Note: Tomorrow, we will air a Best of Rush program. There will be no Rush in a Hurry e-mail. We'll be back live on Monday. Happy New Year from all of us at the EIB Network.

Check Out Dr. Williams' Book: More Liberty Means Less Government: Our Founders Knew This Well.
"No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign invaders." -- Samuel AdamsArticles by Walter E. Williams: Evil Concealed By Money Counterfeiting Versus Monetary Policy Teaching Economics
"Bankruptcy doesn't mean all the assets of a company go POOF! What bankruptcy means is there's a change in the title to these assets. That is, someone else will own the assets -- someone who thinks he can do a better job with the assets." -Dr. Williams |

Happy New Year! I enjoyed Dr. Williams this morning, once I became accustomed to his unusual voice. He is very smart and funny.
I still feel insecure with Rush being down like this. God bless him.

Yes!
These days, anyone over 50 who complains of chest pains, get rushed into emergency like it was a cardiac arrest. I for one, have experienced this kind of overkill. It was a torn ligament in my back which gave me chest pains and felt like they were more in my frontal chest.
They had me on all sorts of monitors, equipment, etc,, and after only 4 hours, the ER bill came to over 11 grand. I later had an angiogram and was declared healthier than a 30 year old. (I am the same age as Rush, about a month older than him.)
Godspeed to you Rush!
To: All
I’m sorry that Rush’s website has no more information than you already know.
I suppose they’re running tests to find out exactly what happened.
