I’m a huge football fan, but anyone who thinks those guys are reaching their current size without steroid help is in denial. Painkillers are more closely controlled now, but sports will NOT police itself.

I read someplace recently that the life expectancy of a professional American football player is 55.
They're magnificent specimens in their prime, but their bodies burn out at a young age.

Point on Favre is not about size, it’s about *durability.* And, to a certain extent, mental acuity and enthusiasm.
Favre’s drug use actually did affect his performance positively over the years, yet no one ever even mentions it.
I’m not saying they should, but it’s pretty dumb to keep bringing it up re Rush.
