Flight 253 passenger Kurt Haskell: 'I was visited by the FBI'

December 31, 2009, 9:41AM

Following up on a visit from FBI officials about an eyewitness account first described to MLive.com, Michigan attorney Kurt Haskell described the visit in comment sections across MLive on Wednesday.

Haskell and his wife, Lori, were aboard Flight 253 when Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab allegedly tried to destroy the plane. They say another man tried to help Abdulmutallab board the plane in Amsterdam.

Haskell had two detailed posts in two different stories. Here is Part One, originally posted here:

"Today is the second worst day of my life after 12-25-09. Today is the day that I realized that my own country is lying to me and all of my fellow Americans. Let me explain.

Ever since I got off of Flight 253 I have been repeating what I saw in US Customs. Specifically, 1 hour after we left the plane, bomb sniffing dogs arrived. Up to this point, all of the passengers on Flight 253 stood in a small area in an evacuated luggage claim area of an airport terminal.

During this time period, all of the passengers had their carry on bags with them. When the bomb sniffing dogs arrived, 1 dog found something in a carry on bag of a 30 ish Indian man.

This is not the so called "Sharp Dressed" man. I will refer to this man as "The man in orange". The man in orange, who stood some 20ft away from me the entire time until he was taken away, was immediately taken away to be searched and interrogated in a nearby room.

Haskell's comments sound more like a person intent upon creating a base of "common knowledge" which will allow him to sue Delta/Northwest in a huge class-action lawsuit on behalf of the passengers and crew.

I hope the airport had security cameras that show there was no such individual and, if that is the case, the FBI charges him with making false statements to law-enforcement personnel.

Bet. Any investigation findings will be skewed in favor of the jack squat Barry administration and faulting the Bush administration.

Does Mr. Haskell have a lawyer? Can he insist on having one when he talks to the FBI? I don’t trust my government anymore either.

Of course he can ask to have a lawyer present, I would.
As for whether he has a lawyer, that remains unknown I believe.

The Haskells are credible people. I believe them over the PC liars who infest our security agencies - and the latter have every incentive to cover up what went wrong at Detroit Metro.

This is very interesting. Read that whole MLive blog and the comments.

I would like it if another passenger would step up and verify what Haskell is saying regarding them taking another passenger into custody.

“I don’t trust my government anymore either.”

Along that same line; if and when a government report about the Christmas Day/Northwest Flight 253 incident ever comes out; at least 60% of it will be government-ese, lies and bull hockey, and not to be believed by anyone other than an Obama voter!

The security camera footage would be controlled by the FBI by now...so why aren’t they being shown? Isn’t this exactly what passenger Kurt Haskell is asking? Yet you are hoping the possible “whistleblower” and positively recently endangered man who has chosen to make himself and his claims scrutinized in public....harm! Please accept my public apologies in advance if I have it wrong, but are you a cop?

Here is another passenger who confirmed the 2nd passenger’s arrest:

Abdul Akin Sadiku, a Nigerian living in Canada was on the same flight with the terror suspect, Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab, He shared his experience with NEXT in an interview from his Canada base. Excerpts:

When you got down at the airport, what kind of situation did you meet?

The first things we noticed before the plane landed was, we saw fire ambulances all over the place; police cruisers all over the place. All of them were waiting for us to land.

We landed and they took us to a desolate part of the airport and they got us off the plane. But before the rest of us, they took the suspect off; and they then took off the guy that tackled him. They checked him for damages. Then they came into the plane to look at the scene of the incident and make sure that people did not touch the area that got burnt. We got out of the plane and were taken to a place where we were quarantined.

They did not do any immigration check or anything. They never told us anything. For six hours, we just sat there. Only later, they started allowing us to go to the bathroom; one person at a time. Except, if an adult were going with a child. Then they brought a dog to sniff peoples’ bags. It did, and they later took away one guy whose bag was repeatedly sniffed by the dog. They handcuffed him and we don’t know what happened to him anymore. They later started interviewing us.

And you sound like you're trying to create a base of "common slander." You provide no facts, no insight, no evidence, nothing except your "hope" that Haskell be exposed as a liar, and to help it along, you provide an ugly fictional storyline for people's imaginations.

How about "hoping" the truth comes out, whatever it is? How about "hoping" Haskell isn't harmed by government agents who might want to cover something up that he saw?

Or is "hope" merely a code word you're using for your ultra-sophisticated disinformation meme-implantation spin assignment from HQ? In that case, hmmm... who might just possibly use "hope" as a code word? Hmmm, lemme see...

Interesting story that corroborates Haskell.

What I liked best about Haskell’s comments today was the part where he said “If this other guy they arrested was on a different flight, why did the co-mingle us?”

I agree with him. What other passengers would you let into the same room with the 253 folks? It is plausible people at the airport were that dumb, but I highly doubt it.

The entire article is worth reading.

See post 12, there is a second confirmation of the second arrest. And, reading the article, FBI confirms that they are “holding” indefinitely the second individual “for immigration reasons”. So the bomb dog got him, and they are holding him. But its about his visa.

So we have, apparently, three people on the plane. The bomber we know about, the guy who filmed him, and the guy being “held” that the bomb dog sniffed out.

And the guy at Schiphol who apparently walked the bomber onto the plane.

Weird. Interesting, but weird.

Kurt Haskell (and his wife) are lawyers. I don’t know if he (they) need a lawyer besides themselves are not.

What he says sounds true because he never speculates or embellishes or changes his story.

What the hell are you talking about! His account has never wavered, only the FBI and Amsterdam airport security (not to mention O and Co.) You base this on your belief that he was just putting out his account to justify a class action suit but offer no proof. I don't know what your Archangel moniker stands for but as far as your comment goes, you have won the Archidiotic post of the thread.

“the FBI charges him with making false statements to law-enforcement personnel.”

- Maybe you arent aware of this, but FBI agents lie all the time in order to secure their arrests, prosecutions, and convictions. If local law enforcement does it, then you can bet that the FBI does. One of the guys I grew up with is in the ATF and the things he has told me about the alphabet agencies would make your head spin.
