My own theory is that Michelle and Barack decided that a presidential campaign, being national in nature, would substantially increase book sales and they could perhaps finally be entirely financially secure.

It did increase Barack's royalties, but I do not believe that for a second they believed that he could win, and thus both are entirely unprepared -- they were swept away in a frantic snowball during the Spring of 2008, and global warming aside, (lol) that snowball gonna keep on rolling 'til 2012.

NO way the Chicagoans will get reelected, and they never expected to serve a day anyway.
