Yo Ben you lying P O S !!! You think lying to us some more will work?? You are a disgrace to the Greatest Country in the World. Pack you bags and get out!!!
State imposed recall and term limits are unconstitutional for Federal offices. There was a Supreme Court state that struck down a term limit law for Congressmen. The only way to allow recall would be some sort of Constitutional Amendment.
Send a copy of this article (a paper copy, or a link) to Rep. Bart Stupak, Rep. Joseph Cao, and the Potential Flip Vote of your choice. If the vote on the final (post-reconciliation bill) goes exactly as it did last time in the House, but with just three people flipping from YES to NO, THIS BILL WILL FAIL.

Again: there were 42 members of the House who voted both in favor of the Stupak amendment to bar taxpayer funding for abortions and in favor of the main bill. Clearly, Speaker Nancy Pelosi couldn't have won passage of health care legislation had the House not adopted pro-life language.
The names below are all of those who voted in favor of both measures, with an asterik next to those who were considered undecided on the morning of the vote. To be clear, many of these members would have supported the health care bill no matter what. However, given the 220-215 vote margin on the House vote, what it means is that when the pro-life language is stripped from the bill during negotiations with the Senate, if Pelosi loses the support of any three of these people below as a result -- without picking up anybody else's support -- the bill cannot pass the House.

I wonder what this moron expected? He knew he was going against the will of the people who elected him. Did he think they would be overjoyed by his vote to turn the country socialist?
When (if) some form of health care is enacted, fedgov will start collecting fees and taxes immediately, although no benefits are available until 2014.
Now, when have the leeches in DC ever allowed money to accumulate without dipping into it? (I'm not citing D's or R's here, both will be guilty)
I expect that when 2014 rolls around, people will line up for benefits from an account that has $0 in it. What will D.C. do then? Throw them all into Medicaid, of course, and let the states pick up the tab. Nelson saw this coming...
I dont think you can recall a US senator. IIRC only the Senate itself can kick one out or refuse to seat him.
“Can Nebraska recall a senator?”
They shouldn’t. Senator Nelson knows better than his voters what is good for them; and was just doing the right thing.
Voters after all are just commoners who can’t think on their own.
Right now Reid, Pelosi and other leading Dems are starting to sweat. Obamacare still has to go through the conference committee process, and then back through another vote in both the Senate and House.
Being down 30% is an unbelievable number for an incumbent. The unpopularity of Obamacare isn’t going to be lost on other Dems, and it’s going to make it hard for Reid and Pelosi to keep the troops in line.
I think that is why Pelosi will have a vote on the Senate bill unaltered, the so called "ping-pong" option, and avoid new votes on a Conference Committee compromise.
You are right, so let me be clear: The followers who believe in the government cure for health care are stupid.
Hey,this thing isn’t law yet. There’ll be at least one more vote in the House *and* Senate. If Nelson is,in fact,in full panic mode maybe he flip for the next vote.Does anyone know if the next Senate vote requires 60 votes....or just 50% plus one?
No. A US Senator or Representative cannot be recalled.
I'm not certain but I think that Senate "rules" forbid *any* state from "recalling" one of its members.
It actually requires 67 since the bill contains changes to the Senate rules. But since these are Democrats we are talking about, it can pass with only 50 votes. Rules are for the other guy.
That’s the idea behind it, indeed. And they may be right - although I think they underestimate the American people. They’re more independent-minded than leftists think.
That depends.
If the House approves the Senate bill, it will go to the Pres__ent for signature. Done.
If the House makes any changes, than it goes back to the Senate. Ordinarily, it would go to a House/Senate conference committee. The resulting bill would then only require a 51 vote majority. But, since Sen. McConnell has said that he will not approve any conference appointees, it will have to be taken up by the Senate as a new bill. This means a minimum of three cloture(60) votes.

You reap what you sow, Ben....grow some balls and stand by your decision in voting AGAINST the majority of what Nebraskans wanted you to do. Buh-bye.
Another jerk who has no idea how to work for a living.
Senate rules only apply to proceedings in the Senate. They can’t bind the public. Depending on state laws, a Senator may be recalled.
