I haven’t been following this. But there’s always the truth and then there’s the Balloon Boy Syndrome.
There’s also the possibility that Haskell is telling the truth as to what he saw and he’s either mistaken or authorities are trying to avoid verifying some aspects of his account because they are working on leads that might otherwise be blown.
I heard/saw another passenger make the same claims (about the second man taken into custody). It seems they were telling their stories simultaneously. Doesn’t sound like it’s a fabrication.
“
It seems foolish of Haskell(?) to expend so much of his time and
energy if he’s making up the whole thing.
“
I don’t know about Mr. Haskell...
but I do recall the experience of actor James Woods and one of the
flight attendents on the same flight out of Boston (same flight number)
when they reported suspicious activities by Middle Eastern types
before 9-11.
The FBI apparently “round-filed” their reports as something like
“profiling”.
It was interesting (and sad as well) to see Woods on “The Tonight Show”
relating his experience to Leno; this was about the time the multi-episode
“The Path To 9-11” aired.
Woods said he was awoken in the early morning hours of 9-12-01
(6:30 AM?) by FBI agents knocking on the door of his LA residence.
I hope we won’t have a repeat...with Mr. Haskell getting a repeat
call by the FBI after ANOTHER 9-11 event on American soil.
There were several other people who were taken into custody during the Ft. Hood massacre. I tried finding ANY details on why they were suspects at the time but nothing came up, we were just told that they were released and not charged.
I know in the midst of a breaking news story, some details may get misreported but I was listening to the police scanner online that day.
Everyone has heard that the 3 men “behind the fence” in Dallas were bums. But at least they were accounted for.
Ever since OKC, we’ve been told “John Doe #2” (or whoever) just plain does not exist.
