Yep, lets return to protectionism. Since that worked so well in the 1930’s.
Does anyone in this White House own a history book?
Seriously...

China made tires are taking a hit too with the new taxes.
But my dealers just bypass the old China cheapos and stock other affiliate brands.

That would be an interesting “how many angels can dance on the head of a pin”-type discussion. Who cares more for the United States, China? (because it holds U.S. government debt), or the United Steelworkers? (because it wants to line its own pockets).

Aww...finally something is done against the ChiComs and their corrupt trading practices....we can finally do something about the huge trade deficit
Communist China is now even losing rulings in the WTO on US complaints....and on cases brought forth by the Bush Admin a few years ago
Of course, the supporters of Free Trade with Communist China will whine whenever tariffs are imposed on the ChiComs....even though the ChiComs will not allow US goods to sell freely in Communist China.
Also, I get a kick out of those who claim “union thugs” as a cover when they support the Communist Chinese. That is like someone who hates Hamas....then in spite supports Hezbollah instead. I do not like unions either....but I am not going to redistribute wealth to Communist China to remedy that
If you support Free Trade with Communist China....YOU ARE A COMMUNIST

All they have to do is not show up at the next Treasury auction. That would be a nice shot across the bow.

Indeed.
Now if they would just stop propping up our sick dollar and force the Fed to undergo some strong fiscal discipline, they would complete the trifecta.
It took an incompetent, affirmative action, Ivy League, domestic Commie like Obama, to force the ChiComms to behave like free market capitalists.
Strange times.
