Four foreigners face execution over China drugs: report

(AFP) – 5 hours ago

HONG KONG — Four foreigners could face the death penalty in China after their arrests in connection with a major heroin bust, a report said Thursday, days after the execution of a Briton convicted on drugs charges.

The foreigners are among nine people arrested in September in southern China after police uncovered about 145 kilograms (320 pounds) of heroin stuffed inside cotton bales, the Hong Kong-based Ta Kung Pao newspaper reported.

The paper did not specify the nationalities of the four foreigners.

"Under Chinese law they may face the most extreme penalty," the report said, referring to the death penalty. The paper said the arrests marked the largest heroin smuggling case uncovered by Chinese authorities in recent years.

No way such smuggling is to be condoned, but I trust Chinese investigation about as far as I can throw it.

Yeah, that’s the only thing that bothers me.

If they were guilty, off with their heads.

As long as they get a fair trial...

Of course, that’s pretty chancy in the PRC...

Then again, maybe they can buy a judge?

China takes her laws seriously....dealing in drugs is tantamount to causing deaths. In America we lock the dealers up and give them free room and board for years costing the taxpayers an enormous amount of money and educating the prisoners in how to be a better crook when they are released. How stupid is that....death for smuggling people and drugs; no ‘first offense’ no trial just bang! You broke that law.

Best to know the laws of the land before you deal.
You are so right!

There will be some initial whining from Liberals over Communist China executing the dope pushers....but that will all subside as most Liberals are also Free Trader Globalists in love with the ChiComs.

If these perps got a fair hearing....them I am all in favor of them being executed....even as much as I despise Communist China...at least the ChiComs are taking real crime seriously

Most of Asia has the same penalty for drug dealers. Not just China.

If someone is stupid enough to try to smuggle drugs into China (or anywhere else) then they deserve what they get.
If they want sympathy then they should look in the dictionary between “sh!t” and “syphilis”.

I don't have a problem with that...as long as they are,in fact, guilty as charged.Of course in Chinese courts you can never really be certain of that.

Yup...made my first trip to Singapore last year and on the immigration card it said,in bold letters, something like "Drug smugglers subject to the death penalty under Singapore law".After reading it I decided to ditch my deodorant...just in case.

Just kidding

Idiots should have smuggled dope into the US where the risks and the consequences are low.

Photobucket

This is what you receive from Singapore, attached to your passport, when you enter the country.

They really can't make it any plainer.

If I was going to be executed for unhealthy behaviour or for making a buck on other’s choice of unhealthy habits, I would sure try to take some of my persecutors with me. I would not go quietly. Death to totalitarians!!!!

This really P***es me off. If anyone should agree with these tactics by these countries, they might as well as go down to the convenience store and shoot the clerk when they sell thier next pack of Marlboros, or go on down to McDonalds and execute the whole bunch of those dealers of death.

Death to totalitarians!!!

When people import large quantities of drugs, they permit for the stealing of a person’s SOUL. In many cases, the addiction also takes the life of the addicted user, after ruining their career and driving away their friends and family.

If China really has proof, then it is good that they kill these people. I think the USA should learn from China in this.

At one point, very large parts of China’s population was hooked on opium, and it was not via compassion that they rectified the problem.
