It ought to scare the crap out of you, and every other American. It scares the crap out of me, too, because what it implies - frankly, what it screams to the world is: America no longer considers itself at war.
That's right. We have abandoned the understanding that Radical Islam is a deadly transnational enemy which considers itself at war with us regardless of how we choose to feel about it.
Instead, it's dream sequence time...

Cambodia was falling to the Khmer Rouge, Iranian thugs paraded American hostages in front of the cameras just for laughs, Soviet tanks rolled into Afghanistan, and the President's wacky beer-swilling brother was peeing on airport tarmacs across the land!! Gas lines! Runaway inflation! Recession! Mindless TV shows! High taxes! Well, grab your wide-lapeled orange dress shirts and your bell-bottom jeans, because it's all coming back!!!
Ahhh, memories, memories. So don't worry about that airplane bomber-thingy. It's too complicated for you to understand fully in the light of America's vital international obligations and such, and besides, the police have matters well in hand.
