Normally, when a special election occurs to fill a seat in Congress or especially the Senate, the national parties throw resources and attention onto the race. The lack of competition for attention allows the national parties to transform the elections into national referendums of sorts, and the party out of power usually has an opportunity to exploit the lower turnout to steal a march on the governing party. So why have the national GOP and party leaders gone AWOL in Massachusetts, where Scott Brown will battle Martha Coakley for Ted Kennedys seat in the Senate?

Steele must GO!!!
NOW!!!!
“its almost as if the party DOESNT WANT TO WIN!”
There is no reason on earth why the RNC shouldn't be going after this seat full throttle, unless they don't want to win it.
I guess the 41st seat in the Senate and a testicle crushing kick to the groin of the Rats are NOT what the RNC wants to deliver.
What other reason is there? Incompetence? Insanity? I don't know.
They obviously think there is no way Brown can win in Massachusetts. I think he can. I am from Massachusetts and if there was ever a time when a Republican could win it is now!
Crickets. The OP(formerly the GOP) did the same thing to Alan Schlesinger when he ran against Joe LIEberman in 2006. Not only did the OP abandon Schelsinger, who was a strong Conservative, but many in the OP actually voted for a flaming socialist like LIEberman! The Republicrat party strikes again!
I would agree. They/Steele are stinging from the just finished New York election or ... they have written it off as a lost cause.
I think the latter. Which shows a lack of leadership on the part of the National GOP.
Coakley seems to have the “women’s vote” and the unions. What’s left?
Brown definitely has a chance if he frames the race to be about health care reform.
Is there a website where we can give Steele a piece of our minds?
How do you get rid of the guy? What is the process?
After Scozzafava they have revealed themselves as people who think their constituents are the media.
They think they are beholden to the media, elected by the media, and that the media can be made to be their friends if they just suck up enough.
RINOS live totally in media-land.
Hmmm...i think a big push during the healthcare debate would have been just drowned out by the healthcare debate...
Knock on wood Jan.2 very will focus.

EXACTLY!!! This race can be won by Brown.
Unless the real internal polling is THAT horrible?!
Yes I am the 1st to post this question in a thread last week. It is going National.
The RNC is an utter embarrassment...
I think this is the GOP’s new web site:
http://www.gop.com/index.php/learn/leadership/
Look down at the bottom left of the page for contact info.
Mass voters know they live in Taxachuetts, yet they still vote their bozos in.
Gentle reminder from Scott, without calling them stupid, maybe it will register. At the same time it reminds them why they voted for Ted all these years, they were longing for John F.....
Yes, I am an escapee from MA.....
....internal polling that horrible...?
It probably is. There are hardly any real Republican conservatives left in New England, much less any that could win a congressional electiom. Sad, but true.
I have no idea if Ed Morrissey comes here or not, but I do think that the question has gone viral/national. If Brown could win, it would be big!
Let’s see what happens in 3 weeks.
Where is the great conservative, “Reagan like” leader, Mitt Romney on this?
The bigger question is if Thompson or Levin etc recommend him or interview him do we get Hoffman part Deu?
A suprise visit / rallye from Sarah in MA would absolutely put it on the radar screen.
I hope Scotts team is lerking here and stealing my ideas, take them and run people....
I have friends that live in that area. Some in Mass, others in Conn and New Hamp (who work in Boston).
They also agree that NOW is the time to go after a Dem seat in this cesspool of Socialism! If ever the RNC could win this seat, now would be the easiest run!
