Tracing device triggers backlash from gun industry (Kali microstamping)
Sacramento Bee ^ | December 30, 2009 | Kevin Yamamura

Posted on 12/30/2009 5:54:18 AM PST by Second Amendment First

Now, with a new bullet-stamping law scheduled to take effect in 2010, the gun industry predicts it will introduce even fewer new models in California rather than install a device necessary to trace individual casings to a statewide database.

Don’t sell ammo to any California law enforcement agency.

Could be time to move to Reno and open a gun store?

I’m not in CA, but here’s the plan.

$600 or better for a premium piece. That’s how it goes...

Then $10 for a new firing pin, from outside CA, installed during the first detailed cleaning.

As the old saying goes, “Problem solved, opportunities gained”.

Come on, I mean, is there any question? I can’t believe you held out as long as you did. Your state is trying to end your way of life + redistribute your money to illegals and other losers. I can see people who have a ministry there sticking around (it’s a great mission field) but other than that, I don’t know why you say.

That is a great idea though. End all firearm contracts with the state.

End all firearm contracts with the state.

One of the key tenets of liberalism is that the ruling liberal elite wants to ensure it is more equal than us peons. Forcing them to do without the safety provided by firearms, which of course is what they want for us, will at least provide some incentive for them to change their ways.

They don’t count on the people they attack doing something about it. Gun companies are under constant attack by the state of California but still like the money the contracts bring. It’s like Christians who keep going back to the movies despite their God being under constant attack by Hollywood.

A more reasoned CONSTITUTIONAL approach would be to require that ALL SALES OF AMMUNITION AND FIREARMS TO ANY GOVERNMENT AGENCY OR EMPLOYEE SHALL BE PAID IN GOLD AND SILVER COIN. Let the State argue that Article 1, section 10 of the US CONSTITUTION doesn’t apply to them.

The only other option is to not sell at all in the State of California. And you cannot buy Ammunition or Guns in most states with a CALIFORNIA ID. Especially in Arizona. There is a BIG SIGN at WalMart here in AZ. NO CALIFORNIA ID IS ACCEPTED FOR FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION.

"...It was intended to ensure that every bullet casing at a crime scene has a license number on it, traceable to a statewide gun database..."

Ooops?

They are just trying to make guns more and more expensive so that few and fewer people can afford them. That’s one place where liberals don’t give a damn about affordability and rising prices. What a bunch of hypocrites.

I left CA in 1984 when we separated from the Navy at Moffett Field. I came home to Texas.
But if one were of a mind to take advantage of an opportunity, this seems like a potential gold mine, selling weapons and ammo to Californians from just across the state line.

And of course as supply and demand dictates when something becomes cost prohibitive it becomes a bigger target for theft.

Nothing that a couple of swipes a gang banger w/a diamond file won’t defeat.

They are just trying to make guns more and more expensive so that few and fewer people can afford them.

The old Jim Crow laws in the south permitted only Colt or Smith & Wesson handguns because they were too expensive for most Blacks to afford.
