FORT WORTH An 18-year-old Fort Worth man has been sentenced to 10 years probation in the death of a woman who got caught in the crossfire of a gang-related shootout in March in which a gang member was also killed, authorities said.
Salomon Vallejo was sentenced last week by 432nd District Judge Ruben Gonzalez after he pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault. Vallejo had agreed to be a backup for Jose Martinez and others during the March 27 confrontation that resulted in the deaths of Michelle Chavez and Luciano Hernandez, prosecutors said.
If Vallejo completes probation, he will not have a conviction on his record for the third-degree felony.

And if he violates his probation 5 times he will have to spend a weekend in the county lockup.

This judge and the perp he so lightly sentenced for murder should both go back to Mexico.

These are the same type of “Justices” who will be reviewing the cases of the Gitmo inmates once they get to Illinois. Is everyone happy?

The probation may be a death sentence:

Who says TX is tough on crime? This won’t help Perry on March 2. I wonder if Perry can win on November 2, but many seem to think so. The “tough” TX is and has always been a myth.
To: Dubya
I think law enforcement should start looking at this judge’s bank accounts.

While Perry is not involved in this tragedy, it shows that things in TX are not as good as he will try to depict them. Still, he may be the “least worse” of the major candidates. But I am leaning toward Debra Medina. If she gets enough votes, it will make them do the election again in April.

I felt sorry for the 18-year old woman killed, however:
Michelle Chavez dropped out of Trimble Tech High School last year as a junior her sister said. "She [Michelle] had been hanging around the wrong crowd," The incident started about 11:30 p.m. at what police called a "gang party"http://www.star-telegram.com/news/story/1285565.html

Chances are good the victims were gangbanging dirtbags themselves. If so, good riddance.
