Amazing.

Couple things I do not understand.
Like Beatle exhibits you have different ones sometimes looking nearly exactly alike?
Also how do ya mount these multi colored beaut without disturbing the wings?

Butterfly World in Fort Lauderdale area is waaay cool.

Literally, there are times that you have to dissect the little moth (or beetle) sex organs to positively ID. And, there are some, which to the casual observer, look identical. But, to the trained eye are totally different. Mostly, it’s just reading lots of books and references.

Mounting the butterflies is not hard...it just takes time & patience. It is a bit of an “art” - but easily learned. It requires just a little specialized equiptment (the right forceps & pins really)

There are butterfly “rooms” in many places in the US (and worldwide now). Bfly World in Florida is one of the better ones in this country - that I have seen.

Back to work!

Just something I started doing when I was 12 and never stopped....
