To: Blue Collar Christian

It is a regional thing, not state-wide. Part of the Mojave Desert is in Los Angeles and Kern Counties. If they banned wood stoves where I live, where it often gets below 0 degrees, there would be an armed revolt!

Agreed. My brother lives in Ridgecrest, in Kern County. He told me of such a ban, and I seem to remember it was a CA thing, not just regional. I have e-mailed him asking the specifics. I live in Flagstaff, AZ, and they are working on shutting down wood stoves here, and it gets mighty cold. Propane and natural gas are available so if/when they get their way, everybody can be taxed for heating their homes in accordance with any tax and cap or global redistribution the govt comes up with...I mean they can protect us all from the evil health hazards caused by heating homes with wood fires, never mind the control burns we choke on all summer long...
