The problem is Islamic terrorism. Stop pretending the problem is more general than that. Stop being PC. It will get people killed. We need leaders and security people who understand these simple truths.

You nailed it. It is ISLAMIC terrrorism, and I have said nothing to alter the targeting of that to keep us safe.
We will never be able to recognize and control terrorists without the cooperation of the Islamic community. Once that community recognizes that fact and does something about it, then the terrorists will be controlled.
Until then, we have to do draconian measures to keep us Americans safe.
What would he gain through a couple of "major" domestic attacks (which I believe are all but assured by now)?
Ah yes! Expanded police state measures, his National Security Force, control of "incendiary" speech on the airwaves, limitations on movement within the country, immediate large increases in taxes with which to fight the "enemy", and (may I say it) postponement of an election cycle.

I really wasn’t directing my criticism at you, and I should have used more general language. You know how it is around here.

This is never going to happen, at least not in a way that will matter. Profiling is the answer. Maybe Muslims will get tired of being profiled, and put more pressure on their scumbags to avoid terrorism. I doubt it. Profile and profile some more. When an Islamic terrorist slips trough the cracks, and it will happen, make life more and more uncomfortable for Muslims. Refine the profiling.
