Rather, Baucus was just plain tired and really angry. The product of long hours of debate against Republicans who just don't play fair at all. No, they don't play fair at all. How dare they oppose trillions in spending on a bill that is based in false pretenses! The uppity bastards!

He’s not drunk. He’s just another lying weasel democrat trying to ram a junk bill down our throats any way he can.

What happened to just reporting the news and letting the chips fall where they may?
The press has long ago discredited itself... sticking up for one drunk Democrat after another.
They enabled Teddy Kennedy to murder a mistress while in a drunken stupor - he never served a minute in prison.

I am not as think as you drunk I am.
I bet Baucus’ email and phone calls from his constituents has been OVERWHELMINGLY in favor of the socialized health care bill he is cramming down their throats. Or not.
No wonder he is pissed and/or hitting the sauce.

Emailed the clip to a family member who has 30 years in the State Highway patrol. I then asked him if someone operating a motor vehicle acted like Bauscus “What would you do?” Answer:
Haul them out of the car and order a blood test after screening. 95% sure the guy was in the bag.

I heard him call republicans liars. I thought that was against the rules.

"The product of long hours of debate against Republicans who just don't play fair at all. "
Well, here's what he really means: Even though we have the majority and could (and did) pass this debacle of a bill without any Republicans, Baucus and his cronies were just superpissed because when this catastrophe falls on its face - and it will - there will be no one to blame but the dems. THAT is what was panicking about...and I still believe he was drunk.
Either way, I don't believe a word the SF Chronicle has to say about it because birds of a feather....etc. Liars, all of them.
Their attitude proves it is the dems' intent to humiliate and intimidate, not work together in a bipartisan fashion. If the Chronicle claims any different, they can sell it to the Arabs.

Now, if you can read that, and you can, then you have to agree Baucus was not "slurring" or "drunk" It sounded like he had marbles in his mouth. And just because I can read doesn't mean he wasn't drunk.

He was bashed, befuddled, boozed up, buzzed, crocked, feeling no pain, flushed, flying*, fuddled, glazed, groggy, high, inebriated, juiced, laced, liquored up, lit, lush, muddled, plastered, potted, seeing double, sloshed, stewed, stoned, tanked, three sheets to the wind, tight, tipsy, totaled, under the influence, under the table, wasted
Or, simply put, the loser was DRUNK!
Imagine being a United States Senator. What an honor that once was. Not any more. What we have in Congress are at best street bums and at worse traitors.

Oh! That explains why he rambled on and on and didn’t say much of anything. Most people when they are tired, know when to sit down and shut up, especially when the entire country is watching.

reminds me of the joke:

He certainly did not seem drunk to me, except on the liberals’ lies.
I have to really wonder about people who see that tape and conclude he was drunk. It makes no sense at all to me.
