If you think that bowing to union pressure is a “good decision”, may I suggest that you’re on the wrong internet forum? The CEO built Whole Foods from the beginning. He was involved in every “good decision” that made them a nationwide chain.
John is still the CEO and Whole Foods still a great place to shop.
And interestingly, for several years, whenever there has been a thread about Whole Foods, I have praised the company. This was true long before John’s piece in the WSJ and is true now that a change has been made at Whole Foods.
As for the stock, I bought some soon after it went public in 1992 for less than $10.00 a share and saw it go all the way to $78.00.
Now the stock is under $30.00 and a change would be wise for any company that saw its stock fall in that manner.
