I'm hoping that Scott Brown can pull it off here in Massachusetts but with the holiday season, the upcoming election is pretty much off everybody's radar.

I think it being off the radar is a good thing. Only highly motivated voters will participate. The Scott Brown base seems energized and the Deval/Obama voters are still wiping the exploding cigars off their faces and may not be too keen to pull another lever for the 'rats.

I agree, I think most here just assume it is another “just mail it in” election, if anything that helps Brown imo. I’m hoping for a huge turnout in the burbs, Western Mass.

Well for what it's worth, the Brown lawn signs greatly outnumber the Coakley lawn signs. There is definitely not a lot of enthusiasm for Martha Coakley and actually I'm even a little surprised that this is the best candidate that the Dems can come up with to fill this important senate seat.

That's why it will be such a shame if Brown can't pull this off. This is such a big opportunity for the GOP and I'm surprised that the GOP haven't pulled out all the stops at the national level to get resources into this state to help Scott out. Imagine the GOP picking up the senate seat that Ted Kennedy held for all those years. What a coup that would be and what a shot across the bow that would be for the upcoming 2010 mid-terms.
